Commodity Leader

As an automotive supplier, DENSO is leading in developing and providing components and systems for heating, air conditioning, motor cooling, exhaust gas aftertreatment, automotive electrics and electronics and instrumentation.

As Commodity Leader (m/f/d) 

you will be mainly responsible for developing a sourcing strategy for dedicated products, agree changes within the key stakeholders in the organization and implement the strategy.

What you'll do

Perform market analysis and benchmarking to stay up to date with the trends and determine opportunities for change;
Identify internal needs and trends and make sure that the supply base is ready to cover them;
Lead negotiations with defined suppliers and assure contract in place;
Build-up and implement cost reduction plan working closely with suppliers, plants, engineering and other stakeholders;
Lead material sourcing’s from RFQ, offers comparison till preparation for a sourcing decision;
Be responsible for supplier risk management;
Monitor supplier performance and lead development plans of suppliers, partnership activities (SRM) with suppliers and commodity workshops with key stakeholders;

Manage purchasing data bases, monitor pricing developments, strengthen price transparency for materials;
Initiate and lead projects aiming to raise efficiency of the job.

What you'll need

Degree in economics (BWL) with a good technical understanding or in engineering with strong economic background (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen);
Experience in raw materials purchasing, preferably in the automotive industry;
Good knowledge of the purchasing processes;
Strategic mind-set accompanied with analytical skills;
Ability to demonstrate an own initiative, take ownership;
Strong negotiation skills as well as organization & coordination skills;
Intercultural competency, enjoy working in intercultural teams and members in other locations;
Very good MS Office skills;
Very good English and fluent in German.
