SOX Specialist

Compliance with SOX (the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002) is a requirement for a US listing. Implementation of SOX will help Atotech increase transparency and improve internal controls on financial reporting.This Senior Specialist SOX HQ role provides a high level of “Head Quarter” and central exposure with a strong relationship with strategic HQ stakeholders as Corporate Accouting,Tax, Treasury, Corporate Controlling, R&D, HR and Legal.

Your responsibility

• Under the supervision of the Global SOX Manager, you will be leading the SOX controls for Atotech’s coporate financial statement closing processes at the headquarter in Berlin. You will be responsible for the central coordination, the implementation, the testing, the monitoring and the reporting of the SOX controls. This will include:
• Providing ongoing support to corporate finance teams, business owners and corporate functions to ensure controls are designed and implemented effectively.
• Executing the SOX 404 HQ scoping and planning, which includes assessing financial statement risk and mapping significant locations to key process, systems, and accounts as a part of the annual SOX plan.
• Tracking the evaluation of identified HQ control deficiencies and monitoring of remediation efforts in GRC tool.
• You will work closely with the Head of Corporate Accouting and have regular touchpoints with various internal stakeholders in the headquarter such as Tax, Treasury, Corporate Controlling, R&D, HR, Legal and Internal Audit.
• Further, you will interact with external stakeholders such as our external auditor and our SOX implementation consultant.
• You may also performing other tasks within the Project Management Office (PMO) or the SOX team.

Your skills and competences

Experience

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (BS) preferred in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering and Natural Sciences or equivalent

Several years of relevant experience

in publicly-listed companies or Big 4 public accounting firms

• Experience in financial consolidated accounts and related key topics such as financial reporting, impairment testing, IFRS, income tax reporting and debt covenant
• Familiarity with SOX requirements and the COSO internal control framework, control design and operation efficiency of financial process controls and ITGCs
• Experience in communication and collaboration with senior management

• Working regularly with our SOX implementation consultants and external auditors
