Global Health Economics Outcomes Research (Senior) Manager (m/f/x)

The Position:

The (Sr.)/ Manager of Global Health Economics Outcomes Research (GHEOR) is responsible for working with the Director Global HEOR and other senior leaders to conduct real world outcomes research and health economics studies. Responsibilities will also include the implementation of outcomes research strategies, pharmacoeconomic research plans, and Process of Care/quality improvement studies to ensure patient access to products.

This individual will ensure that rigorous health economics and outcomes research analyses and studies are conducted to support the clinical, economic and humanistic value proposition associated with the Oncology portfolio. In addition, focus as it relates to peer review publications as well as the development and use of evidence in scientific communications and interactions with public & private payers, healthcare providers and patients.

This position will also be responsible for supporting collaborations with other members of the Global Market Access & Pricing departments to develop real world evidence aligned to products that support the delivery of quality, cost efficient care specific to the various stakeholders Globally.

Key responsibilities:

  • Generate adequate GHEOR evidence based on the country’s requirements
  • Provides support related to the design and implementation of outcomes research & health economic studies that supports key publications, reimbursement strategies along with value dossiers and submissions to various Payors
  • Supports the development of clinical, economic, and patient centered value propositions related to companies products/therapies vs. other products/therapies with data from clinical trials and supportive real world data
  • Provide the company with clear strategic input to clinical trials programs, LCM, and observational studies
  • Assists global commercialization teams in developing and communicating product value propositions in support of policy and coverage decisions aligned to the company’s commercial objectives
  • Supports the development of the GVD, peer review publications as well as process and quality of care tools that support formulary decision making and treatment of appropriate populations
  • Provides support with external vendor and project management and is able to provide thorough feedback on HEOR analytic methodology as well as oncology insights
  • Supports GHEOR training activities in support of Market Access department
  • Represents the GHEOR team at various cross functional project team meetings
  • Provides fiscally responsible and quality oriented vendor management activities in support of our evidence generation activities
  • Represent the GHEOR department at external professional, scientific meetings and forums

Professional experience and personal skills:

  • Doctorate or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., health economics, health services research, medicine, pharmacy, public health, psychometrics, epidemiology, and decision sciences)
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry, 8 of which must be working in the health economics and outcomes research field
  • Hands on experience with HEOR methodologies across all phases of the product life cycle is preferred
  • Keen insight and track record of successful application of HEOR data with key external stakeholders in all major international markets is preferred
  • Knowledge of Oncology therapy areas is a must
  • Drug development - Demonstrates understanding and (advanced) knowledge of key drug development processes, plans, studies, and strategies including the clinical, regulatory, scientific, operational, and commercial aspects of drug development. Uses knowledge to the organization’s advantage; generates new ideas and enables the organization to improve business performance
  • HEOR scientific knowledge - Demonstrates understanding and (advanced) knowledge of HEOR methods and study designs, and the issues and challenges of applying these alongside clinical studies and in drug development. Applies this knowledge to design HEOR strategies and studies and solve problems
  • Knowledge of industry and policy environment - Demonstrates deep understanding of the commercial and market access policy environment across major markets and harnesses this knowledge to design effective HEOR evidence development strategies to support optimal market/patient access for the companies medicines
