Postdoctoral Scientist (m/f/x) NutNet Europe

Working time: 100% (39 hours per week), limited to 30 September, 2021
(an extension for further 3 years is possible and dependent upon successful renewal of DFG funding for iDiv (evaluation in spring 2021))

Your tasks:

• Expanding and connecting the global experimental networks Nutrient Network

and DRAGNet
; we are especially interested to expand our networks in Eastern and Mediterranean Europe

• Synthesising regional, esp. European, biodiversity data and experimental responses
• Impacts of nutrient pollution on biodiversity and ecosystem functioning
• Theory and mechanisms of coexistence
• Application of new sensor technologies

Your profile:

• Strong organizational and communication skills
• PhD degree in community ecology or equivalent field with a strong background in theoretical and/or experimental biodiversity research
• Very good knowledge of written and spoken English, basic knowledge of German language desirable or commitment to learn
• Ability to travel and do field work (including a driving license valid in Europe)
• Team player, high motivation for interdisciplinary and international scientific cooperation
• Ability to prepare high-impact manuscripts for international journals independently
