YOUR TEAM
Our department Product-and Portfolio Management is responsible for managing all of CARIAD's products over their lifetime. The division “Business Development & Partner Management” is responsible for CARIAD’s investment strategy and its assigned non-controlled subsidiaries. We act as entrepreneurs and business owners to secure state of the art customer functions, competitiveness and profitability.As a newly founded team, we are looking for team members who have extensive knowledge in managing strategic partnerships in the automotive and software industry.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop, monitor and drive overall M&A strategy: define targets, scouting areas, prioritize and manage pipeline as well as run screening processes together with cross-functional teams; align M&A strategy objectives and decision-making processses with internal interfaces
- Conduct interdisciplinary evaluation of new investment opportunities including business model analysis and competitor research for expansion of our investment portfolio; cross-functionally work on evaluation and execution of processes such as due diligence
- Steer and orchestrate reach-out to potential partners and M&A targets
- Contribute to the development of new tools and methods for investment strategy development and M&A target assessment
- Co-lead on post-integration process; ensure strategic, technical, financial feasibility and cultural fit of partnerships
- Organize internal M&A steering committee meetings and workshops; prepare and draft opportunity papers and decision material for and communicate effectively with top management and investment committees
WHO YOU ARE
- Successfully completed studies in the field of business administration, industrial engineering, STEM or a related field
- Ideally, more than eight years of professional experience in M&A, investment banking or corporate strategy environment
- Knowledge of investment strategy and advisory as well as profound financial and/or legal know-how of HGB, IFRS regulations, company evaluation methodologies, etc.
- Experience in venture capital and M&A projects within the software or automotive area is highly beneficial
- Very good analytical skills and entrepreneurial thinking as well as structured, solution-oriented and independent working method
- Fluency in English, German desirable; additional language skills are welcome
