YOUR TEAM

The Vehicle and Cloud Platform is composed of products like the VW.OS, the next generation of in-vehicle SW platform, or the VW Automotive Cloud, a cloud platform dedicated to automotive online services. Moreover, it covers enabling technologies like data collection and management, updateability and digital lifecycle management of all vehicle software, connectivity solutions and mobile online services.

We develop an overarching automotive data platform from vehicle to cloud for data driven product development for all brands of the Volkswagen group. With our Autonomous Driving Platform, we shape the future to the upcoming measurement data usage with focus on high frequently IoT data for retrieval, analysis and provisioning for data driven development.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design, coordinate and optimize the technical architecture in the domain of Measurement Data and Data Processing
  • Benchmark your architecture proposals, bring forward the team's vision and align it to the regulatory framework, standards and guidelines
  • Participate in planning, evaluating, and defining the high-level design of the system, exploration of solution alternatives and system documentation
  • Maintain the architectural work artifacts, e.g. system and component design, solution design and capability map
  • Work closely with the Solution Architect to develop, analyze, split and realize the data platform capabilities stack
  • Work with system-specific customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to establish high-level solution intent and documentation requirements
  • Deliver high-quality software within specified time and budget constraints

WHO YOU ARE

  • Successfully completed studies in the field of science, software engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in software development, architecture of cloud solutions
  • Proven experience as an architect in leading on the design, delivery and implementation into cloud platforms (e.g. Azure)
  • Knowledge and in-depth understanding regarding scalable architectural styles and patterns for building a data processing platform for IoT devices
  • Working experience in microservice concepts and their implementations, distributed systems and with event stream or batch processing engines (e.g. CI/CD, Kafka, Helm K8s, Kubernetes, Elastic Stack)
  • Experience in agile software development, ideally lean agile methods (SAFe, LeSS)
  • Fluent English language skills (oral and written), German language skills are a plus
