Job Description Position Summary * The Network Engineer functions as a member of the Network Infrastructure team and ensures the smooth operation of the organization's voice and data network providing maximum performance and availability for the system users. Roles and Responsibilities * Installing and maintaining the LAN, WLAN, WAN and Passive Optical Network (PON) infrastructures for all locations. * Provide technical support and troubleshooting for all network systems. * Maintains and monitors network systems, working in a pro-active manner. * Assists with compliance by maintaining system security. * Maintains network standards and documentation. Qualifications and Education Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field preferred. Network certifications and work experience in lieu of education will be considered. * Minimum 3-5 years' experience with networking technologies. * Total of 5 years in a diverse and distributed IT environment is preferred. * Troubleshooting, research and implementation skills required. * Familiarity with Passive Optical Network (PON) and/or Palo Alto firewalls a plus. Required Skills * Must be comfortable providing technical support at all levels as well as planning and administering solutions for the enterprise. * Strong problem-solving skills as well as proficiency with analysis tools to identify, investigate, and resolve problems when they arise. * Must also have a strong drive to develop and constantly update technical skills. * Prioritize and manage tasks for on-time delivery, be self-motivated, proactive, and perform as a team player. * Exceptionally strong interpersonal skills are required with the ability to easily and effectively interact, consult, support and educate with all staff including senior level management. * Comfortable with completing network system installations, testing activities and projects. * This position requires a high-energy individual who has a passion for this field of work and the ability to be a self-starter. * Strong oral and written communication skills, and experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences. * Must be able to carry a cell phone and provide on call support and working events as assigned. * Occasional travel may be required.
