(Senior) Data Scientist/ Machine Learning Engineer

For our office in Cologne we are looking for a Senior Data Scientist/ Machine Learning Engineer (m/f/d).

Your Responsibilities

• You will actively take part in choosing the best approaches and technologies to turn data collected from millions of transactions into a precise Machine Learning System for fraud detection.
• You will be responsible for creating and evaluating proof of concepts for machine learning models and lead the feature engineering and feature selection processes.
• You are responsible for taking care of bringing successful concepts into production and integrating them in the current systems.
• You will be involved in the full software engineering cycle including conceptualizing, implementation, testing, deploying and monitoring the machine learning systems. The solutions you provide to these problems will have significant business impact for cleverbridge.
• As one of the founding members of our new Machine Learning Team you regularly will need to communicate with other teams, work cross-functionally and help to establish the team in the company.
• Mentoring an aspiring data scientist, will also be part of your job.

Your Qualifications and Skills

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering or related field (alternatively Bachelor's degree with more years of experience)
• Several years of experience as Data Scientist/Machine Learning Engineer
• Proficiency in feature engineering
• Strong python skills
• Ability to communicate technical matters clearly and concisely, good argumentation skills are required
• Familiarity with SQL, git, data science libraries e.g. numpy, pandas, scikit-learn
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices (testing, code reviews, source control systems)

The following experience would be a plus (not mandatory):

• PhD in a related field
• Mentoring experience
• Experience in Payments and Fraud Prevention
