Director Quality (Quality Assurance/Quality Control)

The Director of Quality is responsible for M.C. Dean's overall process and product quality for the assigned scope. The Director of Quality also serves as Management Representative for M.C. Dean's Quality Management System (QMS) for the assigned scope.Reporting Relationship
This position reports directly to Vice President of Quality of M.C. Dean and matrixed to the scope's Divisional Vice President.Job Scope:
- Develop and implement technical and managerial controls across the various aspects of the assigned value stream including engineering, design, supply chain, assembly/installation, testing, information assurance, close-out and sustainment.
- Envision, create, implement, budget, and maintain, and oversee quality programs and policies.
- Oversee individuals charged with verifying adherence to policies and procedures.
- Monitor industry best practices, laws and regulations, and key associations to maintain updates of policies.
- Provide final solution to escalated Quality queries and issues.
- Oversee the planning, scheduling and management of internal audits.
- Represent the Quality at Executive level meetings and events and to the customers.
- Establish quantitative metrics to gauge performance and ensure companywide continuous process improvement.
- Mentor employees and junior management within the department to further individual career goals and succession planning.
- Evaluate the performance of department employees on a yearly and as needed basis.
- Interview candidates and make final decision on new hires for the assigned scope.
- Envision, create, implement, and oversee departmental structural changes.
- Advise other executives of division wide changes that impact Quality.

Experience / Education Required:
- Engineering Degree in Technical Discipline (Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, Computer Science)
- 15+ years of direct or related experience in Quality (Quality Assurance/Quality Control)
