Postdoc (f/m/x) in Microbial Modelling

Full time position (100%, 39 h/week), limited for 3 years, this position is subject to the approval of a third party fundment

Your tasks:

• Modelling of microbial metabolism with stoichiometric models, including

C fluxomics for target identification in strain engineering.

• Bioprocess modelling for technoeconomic analysis and environmental impact assessment.
• Development of kinetic models describing transport processes at the interface of biocatalysts and functional surfaces, such as electrodes or membranes.

Your profile:

• You hold a PhD in bioinformatics, bioprocess engineering, biotechnology, microbiology or biochemistry with a focus on modelling.
• You have experience using the COBRA toolbox and related tools to perform FBA, dFBA, COMETS or similar.
• You have experience with

C fluxomics, both stationary and instationary.

• You applied deep learning or machine learning algorithms to the analysis of multi-omics datasets
• You have basic experience with process simulation tools (e.g. SuperProDesigner) and solvers for differential equations (e.g. Berkeley Madonna)
• You are familiar with coding, data analysis, statistics (Python, Java, Matlab, Origin, R etc.)
• You are fluent in English and have experience with publishing.
