SUMMARY

Position will be on-site with client at Ramstein AB, GE In support of the AFCEC/CXR's operations support efforts, through Detachment 4, USAFE and in direct coordination with HQ USAFE A4/A4CS to assist in the management of nuclear weapon incident/accident (NWI/A) response teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze initial response team (IRT) and initial response force (IRF) capabilities for standardization and consistency
  • Provide representation at and assist in developing presentations for response task force (RTF) general officer/IRF senior leader briefings, workshops, and host nation NWI/A response
  • Maintain, sustain, inspect, inventory, and operate IRF command and control UTC 4F9WR. This includes organizing, tracking, issuing, and inventorying equipment items and consumables Additionally, performing inspection and functional maintenance in accordance with USAFE-AFAFRICA policy and guidance
  • Assist in establishing related mission essential task lists (METLS) and annotate defense readiness reporting system (DRRS) monthly reporting for personnel and equipment
  • Coordinate the hosting of a semi-annual Defense Nuclear Weapons School (DNWS) nuclear weapons incident response team outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) basic course at one of the four USAFE main operating bases on a rotating basis
  • Assist with developing, coordinating, and maintaining IRT/IRF checklists, standard operating procedures, plans, and team rosters
  • Monitor IRT/IRF foreign country clearance requirements
  • Monitor IRT/IRF members' completion of baseline FEMA, AFIMS, and other appropriate courses according to DODM 3150.08
  • Assist R&EM flights with funds forecast for IRT/IRF NWI/A TDYs, training, UTCs, and miscellaneous equipment and communications requirements
  • Provide quarterly training and exercise status updates, including shortfalls, to the AFCEC/CXR
  • Support NUWAIX and military to military exercises as directed by the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), European Command (USEUCOM), and USAFE
  • Participate in host nation NWI/A exercises, exercise development, and host nation international military to military planning and agreements
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in CBRN defense and Emergency Management
  • SECRET or interim clearance or must meet subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and meet eligibility requirements for secret clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification in one of the three levels of the Air Force Certified Emergency Manager Program
  • CCAF Degree in Emergency Management or Disaster Preparedness (or equivalent)
