PhD in Ecosystem Services (m/f/x)
Project start: 1st March/April 2020. Working time 65% (25,35 hours per week), limited to 3 years.
Your tasks:
This project investigates the relationships between natural and anthropogenic capital on the supply of ecosystem services, and on the use and demand by different stakeholders, in order to understand its effects on the distribution of ecosystem services among stakeholders at multiple spatial scales. Using a transdisciplinary approach, the successful candidate will use a combination of tools to conduct social-ecological research in three sites across a gradient of land use intensity in Germany, including social surveys and stakeholder analysis, as well as synthesis of ecological data.Your profile:
- Master in Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability Sciences or related disciplines
- Proven understanding of the ecosystem service framework
- Experience in quantitative methods and statistical analyses (use of software R is advantageous)
- Willingness to learn new techniques for data collection and data analyses
- Skills in social data collection approaches (e.g. questionnaires)
- Pro¬ven ability to work in a team and independently un¬der challenging cirucumstances
- Advanced English and German oral and writing skills
- Driver´s licence
