We are seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. student to strengthen our international and collaborative team. The specific project examines the molecular evolution of MADS-domain transcription factor interactions during the transitions of plants to land (for a primer, see Theißen et al. (2016), Development 143, 3259-3271). The project integrates techniques of phylogenetics, plant molecular biology and molecular biophysics with transgenic and genome editing studies in the liverwort model species Marchantia polymorpha.
The successful applicant will hold an MSc-degree or equivalent in biology, biochemistry or a related field, and will have good knowledge of molecular biology and English language.
