Your tasks:
The German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) is aNational Research Centre located in the city of Leipzig and jointly
hosted by the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU), the
Friedrich Schiller University Jena (FSU), the University of Leipzig (UL),
and the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ). Its
central mission is to promote theory-driven synthesis and data-driven
theory in this emerging field. The concept of iDiv encompasses the
detection of biodiversity, understanding its emergence, exploring its
consequences for ecosystem functions and services, and developing
strategies to safeguard biodiversity under global change.
- Development of biodiversity and health research
- Biodiversity-Health Pathway analysis of effects of urban biodiversity on health using longitudinal health cohort data (LIFE Adult) and environmental data, incl for garden visits
- Analysis of citizen science as intervention measure for nature connectedness and health
- Experimental health research in international Biodiversa project Dr Forest
- High-quality scientific outputs in the form of journal publications
- Co-supervision of PhD and MSc students
- Contribution to international science-policy biodiversity and health networks
Your profile:
- PhD in environmental psychology, biology or a relevant subject area linked to biodiversity and health research
- Excellent skills in quantitative statistics essentiell; experience in structural equation modelling and analysis of longitudinal cohort studies highly desirable
- Experience in interview and survey design, implementation and analysis
- Experience in scientific publications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (German appreciated)
