Thesis / internship in the field of bionics soil mechanics and simulation
How does the soil rigidity influence the vibration characteristics of buildings and structures?
Research questions like this are very interesting to us at the department “Bionic Lightweight Design and Functional Morphology” of the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz-Centre of polar and marine research (AWI). In a multidisciplinary approach, we conduct internationally renowned polar and marine research. The basic findings are further developed using effective technology transfer and applied in industry. In a current research project in cooperation with the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY), magnet carrier structures of particle accelerators are developed and optimized. Also important is the consideration of the soil on which the particle accelerator is positioned. And here you come into play.
