Chief Product Owner (CPO)
In order to strengthen our strategic product (platform) development, we are In In order to strengthen our strategic product (platform) development, we are looking for a Chief Product Owner (CPO) as part of the Development department. We believe that this position has become crucial to our company’s success for three reasons:
- With our currently six development teams, it has become increasingly challenging to focus both on an operational and on a strategic level for the entirety of the platform. The CPO role shall act as a uniting entity on the product side (Product Owners, Architecture Owner Group) as well as a connector to all solution-related parties (Strategic Marketing, Client Success and Sales amongst others) on a business level, drive alignment and communicate accordingly.
- Our solution encompasses both product (platform) and services. Yet, services is highly dependent on the product (platform) side to implement client needs. With a CPO present in the Solution & Client Leadership Team and Solution Board we want to make sure that all parties of the solution meet at one table to figure out the greatest value for our company.
- The Development department, as a self-organized work environment with lateral leadership, is currently supported on an organizational level (Director of Development - Organization) as well as on a technological level (Director of Technology). The product (platform) level is currently vacant and needs to be filled to create a strong and sound foundation for all three levels to be equally represented and led.
The role will be based in our Cologne office.
Your Responsibilities
- Member of the Leadership Team Solution&Clients
- develop the Solution Strategy
- define Corporate OKR´s for the Solution Strategy
- quarterly adoption of plan and monthly progress tracking
- Member of the Solution Board
- define Top OKR´s for our product(platform) and our services
- ensure achievement of our Corporate and Top OKR´s
- quarterly adoption of plan and monthly progress tracking
- Derive roadmap for our product (platform) development within our Product Owner group to execute our Top OKR´s while merging our strategic and operational goals and ensure monthly progress tracking and quarterly adoption of plan
- Communicates the product (platform) strategy throughout the company and makes sure that all parties understand it and find alignment
- Ensures a business value driven product (platform) development by enabling hypotheses to be validated through data-driven approaches
- Gives impulses for innovation and creates space for it to be explored by the department within the boundaries of the Solution strategy
- Ensures that the product owners gets relevant company information as well as client & market feedback to validate platform roadmap
- Challenges and feedbacks Product Owners to maintain a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensures that the Product Owners have the tools, processes and methods they need to work together on the product (platform) vision
- Builds a unit with the Director of Technology and Director of Development - Organization to make coherent decisions in terms of how to steer the development team into an efficient and effective part of the company
Your Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s degree or equivalent in business administration, economics, engineering or any related field
- At least 4 years of professional work experience in a Product Owner or product management capacity in the digital commerce industry
- You are a visionary and able to captivate people around you with your ideas and charisma
- You are the face of our product development to the outside world and are able to transmit your vision to prospects and clients
- You are the market expert: You know our competitors, our clients’ pain points, the latest trends
- You pursue relentlessly making our solution the number one in the market
- You enjoy stakeholder collaboration and make sure information and implementation are aligned
- You are a natural leader with a strong agile mindset and an emphasis on fostering and supporting iterative and incremental software development, self-organization and empowerment
- You are a master in product development and highly capable of coaching Product Owners as well as supporting stakeholders to understand how state-of-the-art software development is achieved
- You have a record in creating and executing a product go-to-market strategy
- Understanding the technical aspects of software development as well as of the cleverbridge platform is a must.
- You possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English; German is a plus
