About the team - Core Insurance Development

The mission of the industry development team is to accelerate customer value and growth in industries. This includes establishing and co-delivering strategies and solutions for on-premise, public and private cloud. Insurance is one of the key industries.

Over the last years SAP has developed a comprehensive product portfolio covering business processes of primary insurers and reinsurers across all lines of business and established thought leadership in the market. In collaboration with leading market players the next wave on innovations is under way.

Core Insurance consists of several components. Here we focus on:
SAP Policy Management (FS-PM) is a central component in SAP for Insurance and manages the whole life cycle of a contract, starting from the creation of an application, through policy issuance and ongoing contract maintenance, applications, up to the termination of the contract.

SAP Claims Management (FS-CM) automates and manages the entire claims process, from first notification of loss to claims adjustment and financial reporting.

We put our customers in the center of what we do and think end to end. So, a main task in the following development phases will be to build end-to-end-processes, integrating core insurance with other components like SAP Quotation Management and Underwriting, SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Fieldglass, SAP Ariba, etc. as well as injecting Intelligence like Machine Learning into all processes.

SAP for Insurance is developed with multiple development teams embedding several partner teams (co-innovation) throughout the world (Germany, Canada, India, and Singapore).

The Role:

As a Associate Developer/ Developer (f/m/d) you will work within a motivated and empowered scrum team in an agile environment following the Lean Development Model.

There will be the opportunity for you to expand your business knowledge, expand your technical knowledge (e.g. in Cloud Platform Integration, Machine Learning, Process Automation), increase your cross-topic responsibility, and enhance your customer communication skills.

Role Requirements

We are searching for a self-motivated and excellent team player with a positive can-do and customer-oriented attitude with strong analysis, design and coding skills. Be innovative.

As we are working with teams and customers all over the globe, cross-cultural awareness is essential.

You will also need:
Good to programming skills in the areas of ABAP and ABAP OO, Fiori, Cloud Platform Integration
Fluent communication skills in German and English (both written and oral)
Degree in business administration, computer science, math, physics, or a comparable qualification

Work Experience

Graduate welcome
Experience in ABAP development, including ABAP OO is a plus
Knowledge about insurance industry is an advantage
