working time 100% (39h/week) limited for 3 years

Your tasks:

The successful candidate is expected to coordinate the research in the project with special emphasis on conducting a meta-analysis of agricultural pressures and impacts on stream ecosystem functioning, by innovatively combining information on the hierarchical structure of river and stream networks and by analysing the land use mosaic in catchments and the spatial extent and temporal regimes of pressures resulting from agricultural practices. A central goal is the establishment of an index of agricultural land use intensity for streams , which should quantify effect size and direction of agricultural land use on stream ecosystem functions.

Your profile:

• Candidates should have completed a PhD in a water related discipline of ecological or environmental sciences before the date of appointment and demonstrate enthusiasm to integrate different fields of river ecology in an interdisciplinary project.
• Applicants should have a solid background in hydrological and ecological theory, statistical data analysis and hydro-ecological system analysis with a sound modelling experience.
• Experience in the design and execution of field experiments is beneficial.
• A strong publication record at high international level is expected besides the motivation to work in an interdisciplinary team and in an international research network.
• Good communication skills in English are mandatory.
