Coordinator (m/f/d) Career Center
, 2018, the AWI opened the career center Proceed – a “Helmholtz Career Development Center for Researchers” (HCDCR). Aiming at comprehensive support of postdocs during their career decision processes Proceed will combine different support measures to form an individual package for each postdoc. Career guidance counselling is offered both in German and English languages.
Tasks
Within a multidisciplinary, multifunctional team you will be responsible for the following tasks- Organizing a specific course program for postdocs (together with the graduation program POLMAR)
- Making information available about individually suitable support measures for postdocs
- Supporting the development of a network between postdocs and employers outside academia
- Data management: collecting and supplying data (e.g. KPIs) for internal and external use
- Establishing and maintaining the staff unit’s webpage and data collections
- Establishing and maintaining an active network with our alumni postdocs
- Administrative and assistance tasks within the staff unit.
- The coordinator is directly supporting and relieving the head of the staff unit.
Requirements
- Bachelor, preferably B.A. or B.B.A. on the basis of studies of social sciences, humanities or economics.
- High interest for human resources development within academia shown by
- At least 3 years of work experience in a relevant field
- Strong communication skills in the languages German and English
- Proactive work attitude
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office package (particularly Excel)
- Target-orientated and efficient acquiring knowledge in new topics / software
- Ability to work well in a diverse team with a variety of backgrounds
- Distinguished networking ability
- Willingness for regular business trips – e. g. to AWI sites on Helgoland and Sylt, as well as Potsdam and Oldenburg
It will be of advantage, if you bring
- Relevant experience in working with databases
- A well established network with employers outside academia but in job sectors relevant for postdoc
