Subject: Microfluidic Single Cell Analysis
working time: 65% (25,35 hours per week), start as soon as possible, in subject to budget confirmation, limited to 3 yearsYour tasks:
- Cultivation and physiological characterization of microbial biocatalysts in axenic and mixed-species cultures
- Microfluidic axenic / mixed-species cultivations
- Quantification of substrates and products at the microscale via microfluidics-coupled mass spectrometry
- Determination of single cell dry mass via Quantitative Phase Imaging (QPI) Microscopy
- Establishing mass balances and dynamic models based on single cell data
Your profile:
- Master's degree in Biochemistry/ Chemistry/ Biochemical Engineering/ (Micro-)biology/ Microsystems Engineering with biological background
- Basic knowledge in microfluidics and Lab-on-a-Chip concepts is desirable
- Knowledge in mass spectrometry is mandatory
- Experience in microbiological methods (cultivation, physiological characterization) is mandatory
- Good communication skills in English are desirable
