Responsibilities / Your tasks:

• You will be part of a team that develops a toolkit for the assessment of a communication infrastructure deployment based on 5G mobile radio systems
• Under the guidance of experienced mobile communication experts, you will evaluate existing simulators for radio network and coverage planning, incorporate new functionalities and work on the implementation of visualization features
• You will connect with different divisions within DB Netz / DB and get the chance to learn about the technoeconomic assessment of the planned 5G network deployment of DB and the required upgrades of the transport infrastructure
• We provide the opportunity to write your Bachelor / Master thesis with us

Your qualifications / What we require:

• You are an undergraduate or graduate student in the field of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Transport Engineering (or similar) with a specialization in Mobile Communication Systems or Telematics
• You can spend a 3 - 12 months internship period with us
• You have basic knowledge in 4G/5G radio networks (ideally with first experience in radio propagation modeling)
• You have good skills in programming with MATLAB and/or Python
• You are a team player with good communication skills and a self-organized style of working
• You like to work in an English-speaking environment
