Scientist (f/m/x) for environmental monitoring & development of data infrastruct

Your tasks:

• Cross-domain capacity building in research data management
• Further development of citizen science concepts for environmental monitoring
• Acquisition of environmental data and generation of comprehensive data sets including enriched metadata using metadata standards
• Accessing, processing and maintaining the metadata of geoscientific datasets from multiple sources, including citizen science data
• Support the development of an elaborated metadata management system based on requirement analysis for geoscientific data (e.g. soil moisture data)
• Production and publication of open-access geoscientific datasets and research journal articles

Your profile:

• Suitable university degree, e.g. in geosciences and environmental sciences
• Experience in handling scientific data
• Experience in geoscientific work and programming skills are an advantage
• Joy in working in an interdisciplinary team and willingness to collaborate with international partners
• Good written and oral communication skills in English
• Joy in systematic problem solving and working with computers and data
