PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The SAP Core Platform team stands for SAP's technology layer that is used by millions of business people all over the world. In small and agile development teams, we innovate on compilers, virtual machines, higher-level application services, and development environments to make SAP the best-run enterprise software on all supported cloud and on-premises platforms. As a central part of our technology we offer a set of programming languages like ABAP or ABAP CDS that enable developers from SAP, partners or customers to model and develop highly efficient business applications.

SAP ABAP Platform drives innovation from the heart of SAP. ABAP Platform consists of more than 600 people located around the globe. We are SAP’s technical foundation and proud that our innovations are used by over 12 million people in 120 countries. ABAP Platform is SAP’s industry standard PaaS and carries the world’s most successful enterprise application space. Our business application development platform provides languages, compilers, VMs, SDKs and IDEs for large scale application development, i.e. to develop, integrate, deploy and run business applications on any premises, from our customer’s IT infrastructure to SAP-managed cloud infrastructures running on cloud foundry as well as Kubernetes.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

We are looking for smart and highly motivated students who want to accomplish their bachelor thesis in an inspirational learning and working environment. We offer you an temporary internship contract of three – six months with monthly wage. During this time you will work in our offices with close mentorship by our SAP development team. Your tasks are:

Work on new concepts and tools how to administrate an SAP database in the SAP HANA Cloud, as part of an international SAP software development team.
Evaluate and analyse DevOps requirements for SAP Cloud software and develop state-of-the-art eLearning content for the new products.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Bachelor student of computer science, natural science or mathematics
Excellent grades
Strong programming skills in an object-oriented language like C++, Java, JavaScript or ABAP
Fluency in English and German
Good communication skills
Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please describe as well your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
