ABOUT THE TEAM

Customer system landscapes grow more and more diverse and complex, combining different applications like classic transactional systems with new Web/IoT/Big Data applications. To ensure a consistent, 360° degree view on the company the role of a Data Warehouse is of great importance – but the Data Warehouse application must be capable of handling the new challenges like data volumes, data types, and virtualization/federation.

SAP Data Warehouse Cloud is a Software as a Service offering designed for the data warehousing needs of all sizes, from business departments to large IT organizations. Despite being designed for openness, it offers customers an environment that provides end to end functionality from data integration to analytic app design through its tight integration with SAP Analytics Cloud. Based on SAP HANA Cloud it follows a pay-per-use model that allows customers to flexibly adapt size and cost of their implementation to their requirements.

Within the SAP Data Warehouse Cloud development organization, we work on the data layer which is responsible for data integration to and data management within SAP Data Warehouse Cloud. This comprises the creation of connections for virtual access and data replication, the creation of table and view models as well as the modelling and scheduling of simple or complex data flows. All these above services that we build are essentially based on SAP HANA Cloud technology.

Our development teams are located in Walldorf (Germany) but also in Paris (France), Vancouver (Canada) and Bangalore (India).

THE ROLE

As a member of our Data Warehouse development you will be working self-driven in a global team on the design, coding, testing and quality assurance of topics like cloud-ready data loading, modeling & operation features. This includes developing Node.js based services and tests using TypeScript as programming language as well as supporting maintenance, CI/CD and DevOps activities. The working environment provides a lot of opportunities to work with new technologies, but also with a very strong and clear customer focus. You will also closely collaborate with customers and stakeholders to ensure successful project completion and to extend the use of SAP’s Data Warehouse solutions.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Required skills

Very good Master or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
Proven experience in software development.
Analytical skills to drive root cause analysis for complex problems.
Willingess to continuously learn both new technologies and business processes.
Very good communication skills.
Fluent German and English – both spoken and written.
Preferred skills
Experience in developing cloud products and programming skills in node js, typescript.
Experience with databases and SQL (e.g. SAP HANA) and SAP Business Warehouse (ABAP).
Experience with state-of-the-art development tools (Github, Docker, …).
