Subject: Systems analysis of key bioeconomy technologies

working time: 80%, start: as soon as possible, offered until December 2020

Your tasks:

• Assessment of key technologies in the bioenergy/bioeconomy field
• Involvement in concept development of biobased production systems for materials and energy
• Involvement in the conceptualization of an ex-ante life cycle assessment method for evaluating the previously established development scenarios
• Engagement in LCA research activities in the bioeconomy field
• Scientific publications on the developed LCA methods for regional assessments
• Involvement in the conception of applied research projects

The candidate is expected to carry out a hands-on research for assessing bioeconomy regions, using the tools and methods existing at our Department and complementing them with the latest international developments in the field.

Your profile:

• PhD degree (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. environmental sciences, environmental or process engineering)
• Strong background in LCA is required, as well as experience with process modelling
• Committment to an independent, self-responsible work, whilst at the same time committing to a highly interdisciplinary and team-oriented commitment to solution-oriented interdisciplinary research are mandatory characteristics of the new team members
